    Before returning to Darwin His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the Salvation Army Office in Alice Springs for a tour of their facilities and to meet Salvation Army Captains Mr Stuart and Mrs Nari McGifford.

    His Honour and Mrs Hardy hosted a reception at Government House in the evening for Integrated disAbility Association to celebrate their twenty first birthday.

    ​His Honour and Mrs Hardy departed Darwin for Alice Springs to undertake an official visit. In the morning His Honour and Mrs Hardy visited Braitling Pre School where they met with students, teachers and parents.

    In the afternoon, at a ceremony at The Residency, His Honour invested two Territorians who received appointment and awards in the Australia Day Honours and Awards list, January 2017. The Recipients were Ms Constance Spencer AM and Mr Keith Hewitt ESM.

    In the evening His Honour and Mrs Hardy hosted an official dinner. Guests were:

    • Mrs Patricia Miller and Mr David Miller;
    • The Honourable Justice Riley and Mrs Jan Riley;
    • His Worship the Mayor Mr Damien Ryan and Mrs Joanne Ryan;
    • Major Cole Fletcher; and
    • Acting Assistant Commissioner Tony Fuller.

    His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the memorial service and wreath laying to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea at the USS Peary Gun Memorial, the Esplanade.

    Shortly after, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the Children's Day 'Kodomo no hi' hosted by Australian-Japanese Association of the Northern Territory. ​

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended 'A Night of a Thousand Memories' Gala Ball hosted by Alzheimer's Australia NT. Alzheimer's Australia NT raised over $22,000 to help support people who are affected by Alzheimer's.

    Mrs Patricia Miller AO, Deputy of the Administrator of the Northern Territory attended a Mayoral Reception held at the Council Civic Centre, Alice Springs Town Council in honour of Her Excellency, Ms Gillian Bird, Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and His Excellency, Mr Damien Miller, Australian Ambassador to Denmark, Norway and Iceland.
