    In the morning, His Honour and Mrs Hardy participated in the International Women's Day Walk. It was a sea of purple, led by the Darwin City Brass Band. Immediately after, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the reception held at Parliament House. Be Bold for Change​

    In the afternoon, His Honour blessed four new Elliot 7 sail boats purchase by the Darwin Sailing Club Inc.

    Today was the last of the schools tours as part of the activities for Commonwealth Day, students from Malak Primary School and Palmerston Special Education Centre toured Government House.​

    In the morning, Mrs Hardy attended a morning tea at the Darwin Convention Centre to celebrate International Women's Day.  This event was hosted by Somerville Community Services Inc. Be Bold for Change

    In the afternoon, His Honour attended and presented at the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services Honours and Awards Ceremony.  His Honour awarded three police officers with the Northern Territory Police Service medal.

    In the morning, students from Driver Primary School and Parap Primary School toured Government House.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended a reception for Territory Youth Leadership held at Parliament House. This event was to support and meet the young leaders of tomorrow.​

    Throughout the day, students from Manunda Terrace Primary School and Moil Primary School toured Government House.

    In recognition of Commonwealth Day, His Honour and Mrs Hardy opened up Government House to students from eight primary and middle schools. Students learned about the history of Government House and the role of the Administrator.

    Today, His Honour and Mrs Hardy greeted students from Woodroffe Primary School.

    Mrs Patricia Miller AO, Deputy of the Administrator of the Northern Territory attended and presented at the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services Honours and Awards Ceremony, held at the Alice Springs Police Station. Sixteen Police Officers were presented medals and/or awards acknowledging their dedication and commitment to their agency.​

    In the morning, His Honour and​ Mrs Hardy attended a memorial service and wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the sinking of the USS Peary during the Bombing of Darwin on 19 February 1942, held at the USS Peary Gun Memorial.

    Later, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended a commemorative service for the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin Day, held at the Darwin Cenotaph.

    In the early afternoon, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended a reception and luncheon, held at Parliament House to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin.

    Later in the afternoon, His Honour was honoured to be invested by His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia with his appointment as Officer in the Order of Australia, in the Australia Day Honours List 2017.

    His Honour and Mrs Hardy hosted a reception in honour of His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Her Excellency Lady Cosgrove.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the plaque unveiling commemoration of the Japanese I-124 Submarine followed by a reception, held at Parliament House.

    His Honour and Mrs Hardy received newly appointed Regional Officer, Captain Richard Parker and Captain Katie Parker, Regional Director of Women's Ministries, The Salvation Army.

    His Honour and Mrs Hardy also received Mr Keith Payne VC AM and Mrs Florence Payne OAM.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended a pop-up gallery opening launch of Faith by Geoff Todd, an exhibition of the artist's newest artistic pieces.​

    ​Today His Honour attended a book launch for The Territory Remembers commemorative coffee table book. The book commemorates the Bombing of Darwin with a selection of photographs depicting the brave Australians who defended the boarders of Northern Australia during the Second World War.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy hosted a reception for a book launch of The Empire Strikes South, Japan's air war against Northern Australia 1942-45 written by Dr Tom Lewis OAM. This book is accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Michael Claringbould, Illustrator.

    Both books were released to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin.

    ​His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended The Territory Remembers 75th Anniverary Last Post Ceremony, held at the Darwin Military Museum Precinct.

    The Last Post Ceremony is held at the war Memorial in Canberra every day at 4.55 pm to commemorate a different event or occasion. The Last Post Ceremony held today was to pay tribute to the lives lost during the Bombing of Darwin.

    ​His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the Charles Darwin University Foundation Black Tie Dinner, held at SKYCITY Darwin. The dinner was in commemoration of Charles Darwin who was born in 1809 and to celebrate his contribution to science and education.

    ​His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended a Darwin Day debate held at Charles Darwin University Campus for a hilariously inspiring take on whether 'it is time to rethink the theory of evolution'.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the Northern Territory Board of Studies Student Awards 2016 Presentation Ceremony, held at Parliament House. His Honour presented the Administrator's Medals for the Northern Territory Middle School Scholar and Primary School Scholar.

    His Honour was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia in recognition for the service and support given to the people of the Northern Territory over the past 40 years.

    In the morning, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the 2017 Australia Day Flag Raising, Citizenship and Award Ceremony, held at the Darwin Convention Centre. His Honour presented the Student Citizen Certificates and Medallions.

    In the afternoon, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended the Australia Day Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony, held at the Palmerston Recreation Centre. His Honour presented the Local Government Community Awards for Community Event, Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards.

    Today, His Honour and Mrs Hardy had the privilege of witnessing one hundred and fifteen candidates become Australian citizens.

    In the evening, His Honour and Mrs Hardy attended OzFusion 2017, a celebration of multicultural performances, held at the Portuguese and Timorese Social Club.​
