Government House Foundation

Government House Foundation of the Northern Territory was incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act of the Northern Territory of Australia on 11 December 1998. It was formed to help preserve and promote the heritage of the oldest European building in the Northern Territory.

Government House Foundation is independent from the Office of the Administrator of the Northern Territory and Government House. It does not have any jurisdiction over the role of the Administrator or the operational, hospitality and maintenance of Government House.

The Committee and Members are considered as “Friends of Government House Darwin”, whose objectives include the enhancement of the House, furnishings and surrounds.

Government House Foundation also aims to promote public education and awareness of the history of the House and the role of The Administrator.
